Mondovino

Last night I began watching Mondovino, a documentary on the impact of globalization on the world’s different wine regions. I’ve only made it half way though the film because I thought it would be a good idea to drink wine if I was going to be watching wine which in turn equals sleeping on the couch until 4am. Anyway, so far it’s very interesting. I don’t pretend to know anything about wine but I enjoy the art of it. I find myself drawn to the rural, uneven, dusty chateaus of France as compared to the perfectly manicured vineyards and flash of money in Napa . I can’t help but think that the quality of the wine reflects the grower. The old french man that walks though his fields everyday living and breathing with the vines as compared to the wealthy American couple that spends their time traveling and at charity events or buying art. I guess in my opinion if you’re going to do something it should be a part of you and you a part of it.
