Celebrating the Great Gatsby

[L]iving in New York means opening the door to the extraordinary: extraordinary buildings, extraordinary clothing, extraordinary jobs, extraordinary people… and once in a while an extraordinary party. When the champagne invite arrived in the mail to Tiffany & Co.’s Blue Book Gala, in celebration of the jazz age collection they created for Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby, I could have died from excitement.  With great artistic admiration for Baz (and you can guess how I feel about the Great Gatsby) we stood in a room surrounded by swinging girls in feathers, old standards dancing through the air, and sparkling diamonds that seemed to reflect every bubble of champagne.  It was a night in New York to remember, putting a big bow on the center of Manhattan…

Kevin in his custom made Ermilio tux, I wore a full length sequin gown by Talbot Runhof with a vintage belt, Stuart Weitzman heels and Tiffany & Co. diamond ring.

Kelly wore Nonoo NY (remember from this fairytale shoot?!) and a Tiffany & Co. pearl drop necklace worn down her back.

…and then after party

And if anyone is looking for me this weekend, I’ll be in the theatre swooning over Leo…

  • The Roaring Twenties will always be one of my favorite era. This show looked absolutely amazing, and your photographs seem alive. You really pictured the mood of the 1920’s here. And all that jazz! (You and Kevin were stunning, and as was Kelly.)

  • What a perfect event and such old Hollywood glamour oozing out of this collection! The photographs make me feel as though I’ve been transported to a different, magical time… and you, Kevin and Kelly fit perfectly in (but then again, your style always has a vintage/classic feel that I love)! I’ve been waiting for the film for months now too so I’ll be in a theater somewhere this weekend as well… (I still can’t believe you were in Leo’s home in the Hollywood Hills, so incredibly jealous, lol!)

  • Hahahaa, swooning over Leo, indeed! Can’t wait. These photos really capture an era gone by….loveliest of lovely parties. You look so radiant in that gown…and Kevin is looking very dapper, too.

As always, amazing life/photography. I noticed some images had some grain…what type of camera did you use? Night time photography is always a challenge for me!
